Here, you will find a variety of Phenology Event Reports from observers around the upper Mid-west.

Regular contributors:

  • Wolf Ridge Naturalists (Finland, MN)
  • Jim Gilbert (Gustavus's Linnaeus Arboretum, St. Peter, MN)
  • Rod Kuehn (Twin Cities)
  • Norb Kelly (Elk River, MN)
What to look for:

Phenologists look for the timing of seasonal events in the lives of plants and animals. "First migrating robin" is a good example of the type of event being followed. As the seasons change, compare what is happening in your neighborhood with the observations below.

Entering Information
  1. After logging in, choose "Additional Upper Midwest Phenology Events" from the drop-down menu.
  2. In the "comments" field, first name the species, then describe what you saw.
  3. The other fields should be self-explanatory.
  4. Submit your info.
  5. Go look for more cool stuff going on!
  6. If you would like to be a regular contributor to this list, please e-mail Carrie Anderson at Wolf Ridge.
